I am going to write about the health benefits of ginger. Ginger-and-health is very important to me. And you will see that it is very good for you also.

I 1st became interested in ginger because it was a spice that was used for barbecue in many delicious Asian barbecue rib recipes. Also thai food uses ginger and also uses galanga which is the cousin of ginger.

I started having problems with my stomach several years ago and went to the doctor who prescribed me various medications but nothing ever really helped me and he told me that I may have an irritable bowel syndrome from being nervous.

I had read somewhere that Ginger was good for the stomach and irritable bowel syndrome and found out that this root was cultivated 1st in China and around 4000 years ago and has been used as a medication for stomach problems and gas, and also for arthritis by the Chinese doctors for many thousands of years and the same Ginger is also used as a tasty hot spice in China.

I checked with my doctor to make sure I could use ginger because even as a spice it is to be considered a medication.

I need to point out that before you start taking ginger you must to your medical doctor who knows you best and has your lab work. Ginger is not to be taken by people who are taking medication to thin their blood.

Some common medications that to this are coumadin and aspirin. You don't want to end up bleeding so you need to check with your doctor about the benefits of ginger-and-health. Ginger is also not to be taken more than 4 grams per day or you can get very sick to your stomach from Ginger.

But if you can't take ginger which is usually in 500 mg capsules it is very beneficial for many people. It contains chemicals that increase the digestive fluids in the stomach, it decreases gas in the stomach and it may even have anticancer effects that this still being studied.

Besides this gingers just a very tasty delicious spice that makes things taste hot. In the beginning I thought Ginger could not help me with my stomach problems but they decided to try it after I discussed that with my doctor. I am taking it twice a day in a ginger tea drink which is easy to buy and my stomach feel so much better.
